Mom and Dad flew in last Thursday. Bea was heavy with puppies and when we got home mom wanted to see her. Steven and I called her and she didn't come. so we went looking for her. We heard a squeak like a bird and looked under my bed and Bea was having her puppies a week early. She had 2 puppies one was huge it was a boy and it was perfect, but he was cold and it didn't seem like he was breathing. We put him on a heating pad and rubbed him and his tummy trying to get him to breath, but he never did. They had a lovely little funeral for him. They named him Butch, he is buried in a pretty little box in our back yard.
She has 2 puppies now and they are both girls. One is for Erin and Jon and the other is for my parents.

They are squealy and cute, but they seem more like kittens!

 

We all are enjoying them.

They are having their tales cut off today. So this is little shot of the soon to be gone tail. I really hope it doesn't hurt them, they are so little!

Well I haven't blogged in a few weeks, I'm pretty far behind. So I will fill you in on last week!

I made some treats to send to Mikes dad for Christmas. I made him my Aunt Beth's fudge.

Then I made him my friend Megan's toffee, unfortunately I found out I could eat little pieces of this with no bad side effects.

Then I had never made Mexican Wedding Cookies but they always remind me of Christmas, plus Mike's dad loves the Muddy Buddies so I made him some of those.

 I had to package these things up and ship them off quickly. I don't miss many foods, but that toffee was soooooo good, and I always love fudge!

Then we got a pretty heavy snow storm, most of it melted off after the weekend, but a friend brought over his tractor and let Mike take a swipe at clearing a little snow.

Chris and I were driving in the highway and we saw this truck. I thought it had furniture in the back, but Chris made me really look. It was sad, but funny, all at the same time.

Beatrice was pregnant and Due Dec. 23rd. Her belly got so big she would rest it on things. Her favorite spot to sleep is the back of the couch. She would have her legs away from her body, and her belly resting on the couch. She rested her belly on the floor to. She couldn't always get that heavy belly up on the couch!

We watched the girls. I enjoyed them and can't stop kissing Elizabeth! She is to cute for words!

rid of them guess what we found!

Then my friend Jaryn made a yummy meal. Let me back track here. I got a new calling at church, I'm the lady over the activities for the women at church. Just before I got the calling they changed what it was. I was thrilled because they opened it up for a great time!

So tomorrow night we are having a fun Christmas Party, I'm super excited for that. But in January I am getting as many ladies as I can to share very easy recipes with everybody. I'm video taping them, so it is going to be a fun movie night in January. So back to Jaryn, she is an excellent cook. She made a great meal and had

homemade pesto. She told me where to buy a bigger container of basil. Then the man at the store (I couldn't find it) pulled out about the first 4 containers and got me a fresh

box of it. He said it had just come in the day before.

So I tried my hand at pesto, I didn't have pine nuts or walnuts, so I used cashews instead. Then Steven and Nathan were around and I offered them a taste. All I had close were some saltines so I put a little on a saltine, and they loved it and kept eating it with saltines! I'm not sure that is how you are supposed to eat pesto, but oh well!:-)

Our weekend.......

We had a full weekend and it was nice. First Mike took me to see the movie "We're all Fine" or something like that. It made me cry, but I liked it's message.

Then on Saturday we went over to Mikes sisters, Kristen. To meet her new puppies. They got 2 Australian shepherds. They were darling, this is Toby he hung with us quite a bit.

Mike sister and her entire family, are extremely artistic. Her Christmas tree is covered in hundreds of small handmade ornaments.  It is very pretty, and has lot's of history.

This is a wood ornament she carved, I loved the colors in the wood. 

This one she made it is of her youngest son's favorite stuffed animals, very sweet.

The coke can in this shot, has carved in it a Santa, and his sleigh, and reindeer. Kristen made the pretty red bird he really stands out.

She had lot's of these tiny baskets of fruit. Tiny!!!!

Now to me, some people have wanted to see a picture of me since I have lost a chunk of weight. So here is a picture we took Saturday night, before our ward Christmas party, which was a fun way to end our Saturday. Mike and I sat with 3 other couples. I told Mike "we made it to the grown up table! We didn't have to mess with our kids!" He said "Honey that means we are getting old!" I said, "There are certain things we earn from getting old, and nice conversation, without the kids needing us is one of them!"

Then Sunday I have been wanting to make a few recipes that are very naughty and so I did. I made this chicken that was called Heavenly Chicken, it is cooked in butter and seasoning.

Then I caramelized some corn. I used to go eat at a Mexican food place in Arizona and they had the best roasted corn. It is not the same, but it wasn't bad.

After I cooked the chicken in butter, I shredded it and added cream cheese and some other stuff, naughty!

Then there was a brownie recipe, that you melt 6 milky way candy bars with butter and pour it over brownies. Naughty, naughty!

Now it's spread over the brownies before you cook them.

The candy bar sauce makes a caramel sauce it was yummy!

Jon brought the girls over, Erin wasn't feeling well, she missed out on the naughty dinner! But Elizabeth

liked the chicken and rice.

We enjoyed the kids and then Jon got them ready for bed. It is about a 40 minute drive home.

I took Elizabeth's picture and after I took it she smiled. So I snapped another one. She is also getting very good at giving looks. A little to good. I feel for the man in her life. He will see it in her eye's if he displeases her!:-)

It was a very nice weekend!

So Thursday morning Mike and I went and visited the girls. We love spending time with all three of them!

Issy took me to her room and showed me her special polished rocks.
