a lazy day with the girls....

Both of our husbands are off at the same place. So Erin brought the girls over and spent the day with me. I had taken some sleeping pills for the first time the night before and I was dizzy the entire day. I suppose I won't use sleeping pills again! We hung around the house for the most part. Although now that Steven has moved back home my house is very full again. There are no more quiet moments, there are no more alone times. I have all of my boys living with me again. It was nice to have all of my kids hanging out on Saturday. But on to the pictures. the tiny princess had a little blowout in her diaper and needed a bath. I caught her with this awesome little smile. She is so fun to watch she loves to look at her mom.

Then I painted the princesses toenails. She loved it. So she wanted to paint her mothers toenails.
We set her up to paint them. She got a little distracted and started painting her fingernail.
She was so cute, she loved doing her mom's nail's. I love a prissy little girl!!!

She did a decent job, she got polish on each toenail.

I was holding the tiny princess and shocked her with my flash.

Then Issy had to give her little sister kisses. I was holding Elizabeth so the picture was to close. I had to hold the camera under my chin to get a picture of the sisterly love.

It was a nice day:-)

Shameless FLIRT!!!

Erin had a doctors appointment today, so I headed over and met her to help with the girls while she was busy. I ran the 2 little princesses to a store. I was looking at purses and noticed all of the animal print purses. I had just bought myself a knock off Dolce & Cabbanna snake skin purse at the mall. Nathan helped me pick it out. Even Erin has a zebra bag for her diaper bag.

I had to get the girls back by the end of the appointment because all of the ladies wanted to see them. Little Elizabeth just slept and slept.

Then Erin treated me to lunch. We went to Cafe Rio, my favorite thing to eat there is the chicken tortilla soup. Well little Issy decided it was her favorite too. So she sat in my lap and ate my soup. We were having a great time just relaxing and enjoying each others company. Then Issy got a gleam in her eye. She glanced over to the next table and started smiling, she got off my lap and wanted to sit in the chair behind me.

She got so happy, and smiley over...................

This............. a table of guys!

She started walking back and forth past their table. She would go to Erin for a minute and then get down and walk past again.

Back and forth..........

And back and forth... Erin and I were dieing laughing. They were so busy talking and eating that they didn't notice her. Erin just looked at me and said "Oh my gosh, I'm in trouble!"

I laughingly told Erin, we should go to put Issy out her misery! She had passed their table at least 10 times by then. I pulled a bag out of my purse, it had lip gloss in it. So Issy wanted lip gloss on. I sat her on the table and put my yummy minty lip gloss on her tiny lips. Then she start to whine and reach for me. I thought she wanted to wipe her lip gloss off on my shirt. But no, she wanted to see herself in the mirror hanging behind me. We laughed even harder.

So now with her lip gloss on she takes another stroll past the guys table. Finally they noticed her. We laughed and said, "she is really flirting with you guys." They laughed and told her "hi." they said what a cutie she was, and Erin told them they were the first guys she had ever flirted with so they were special. We all laughed and then told Issy to say goodbye. She turned to them stuck out her foot and hip and waved bye! A shameless flirt! She got it from me! Actually Mike was a big flirt too, come to think of it Erin was too. Poor Issy didn't have a chance, it's in her blood!
Issy and Erin have matching shoes.

Cute pink shoes..... They tried to get some for Elizabeth but they don't make them that tiny.

Poor Elizabeth slept through our entire outing. She did make a few faces and I caught one. It wasn't such a happy face, but it just lasted a second and she was back to peaceful sleep. Say, you don't think it was the camera flashing in her face that made her give me that look. Nah, the flash didn't even go off!

2 Year Old Princess......

Just to let you all know as to my previous post, I made a doctors appointment. But it has to wait for 2 weeks.

It was Issy's 2ND birthday yesterday. She has a little friend Cadence(sp?) they had so much fun.

They danced, and played hide and seek with Steven, and just ran hand in hand. Two squealing, giggling little girls, it was so cute to watch.

Erin wanted to get her something a little different and ordered a double layer cookie for her birthday. She loved blowing out the candles, even if her parents forgot to get candle and she had to have tea lights on her birthday cookie. We just decided they matched the cookie and worked perfectly.

Then Issy got into opening her gifts she loved all of her presents.

Her parents got her a baby, Baby Grand. She loves it.

But of course I had to make the last picture be of her playing with grandma and grandpa's gift!
She had a fun party. We enjoyed the company the kids, the kids neighbors, the Buchanan girls came too. The food was great, and we all passed around the tiny princess while we watched Issy run and play. It was a great night.

I'm off......

Something is wrong with me lately. I can't put my finger on it, but I'm just off kilter. It's Easter, I have been thinking of Christ's life of the Atonement, and just that thought alone should lift me. They tell us in our church that we should live our lives, so that others will know Christ, just because they know us. I read a book last year called "The Hiding Place", now those people lived that very way. They were wrapped up in the middle of the horrors of the Holocaust, and they radiated faith and love. I am not dealing with anything even half as horrifying as the Holocaust in my life. But I constantly disappoint myself. I feel like by this time in my life I should have it down. I am a grandma for heaven sake, I should be wise and all knowing:-)

I have so many blessings in my life, constant blessings. I thank Heavenly Father daily for them. I have such good and happy things, a loving and attentive husband, compassionate and loving children, beautiful sweet little granddaughters, awesome family, great friends, Mike's job, a warm home, clothes, food, books and chocolate,etc... How can I have all of these blessing and even more and not feel completely happy? I'm not sad, but I'm just not very happy. I have been "off" for about a month, but this past week has been really bad. I'm just not so fun when I go out with friends, I can tell I'm not myself. Is it a midlife crises, the change-I'm just 44, situational depression, the crazy scary political world, the bad economy, or what? Mike has been leaving funny comments on his friends Facebook, and making jokes to me and they all go over my head. I'm not clicking, I'm physically and mentally slower this week. I just don't know what's up with me. Then I wonder if I went to the doctor what do I say is wrong with me? "Yes, doctor I am here because I haven't gotten my husbands jokes all week!" Maybe Mikes jokes are just really bad this week and I am perfectly normal!:-)

Well, if it is depression, then what in the world do I have to be depressed about? Why am I so down and draggy, when I have so many blessings. I love Heavenly Father, and I know he loves me. I also love his son, and know that Easter is all about his love for me (actually all of us). I guess today I could really tell something was wrong, this draggy feeling stole some of my "happy, grateful, Easter feelings."

Maybe I just need some sleep, I haven't been getting much at all.

Excuse the rant, as I said I'm off.

I hope you all had a wonderful Easter!

16 and strep throat.......

Nathan came home from school on Thursday and didn't feel very good. He was running a slight fever I just had him rest. I am a little old fashioned and believe if you have a fever your body is working. You have a fever because your body is trying to burn out what ever organisms is making you sick. He took a long bath but it didn't make him feel better. (For me and 3 of my children a nice hot bath is like medicine it makes us feel physically better.) He came out of his room and laid down on the couch and watched the movie "Chocolat" with me. After that he wanted chocolate but settled orange juice:-) Around 9:30 his temperature shot up to 103, that is when I take action. We dosed him up with advil and called the neighbor to help give him a blessing. Then we realised that he was having a party on Friday night. He felt terrible and he was so sad when we started to figure out what to do about the party.

I took him to the Urgent Care as soon as it opened, and he had strep throat. We were in a bind about the party, the invitations had gone out, but we didn't have numbers to call and postpone it. The Urgent Care people were very sympathetic and hooked us up. They had us get him on the antibiotics as soon as possible, they gave him a dose of something that would take down the swelling and redness within 2 hours. They said the germs pass through water. So if he coughed or sneezed, or we ate/drank after him, that would be how we got it. And let's face it he probably exposed all of his friends on Thursday. We had the party, but he had to wear a face mask. We also had a large bottle of hand sanitizer out for everybody.
This is his cake, a trusty Costco cake. These are the snacks that 11 kids hardly put a dent in, maybe it had something to do with the 8 pizzas Mike and I brought in!

Steven and Chris worked really hard to make the very sick little brothers birthday party be a great one. We pulled all of the TV's together, 2 in the living room and 2 in the basement. They set it up so that they could play in teams. I don't understand how it all works.

I got a few shots at the very beginning, before everybody got here. I didn't get any good shots and I even forgot to get group shots. Mike and I went to our room and hung out on our computers so the kids could have fun.

I wanted a picture of Nathan with his cake. But he couldn't touch it so this is as good as it got.

And when you have strep throat you can't blow the candles out over the entire cake. So we had to cut him a small piece so he could blow out his candles.

Wow, my baby is 16!

A shopping trip.......

I went with the girls to find Issy a birthday present today. There were some great toys at the store. This wasn't one of them. It was a really big Dora with a huge head! I put Issy by it just to take a picture of it and show that it was bigger than her. When she turned around and saw it, she back away and wouldn't stand near it without her mom. She also liked the pink cadillac. She went crazy in the princess section, the fairy section, and loved all of the kitchen, food, and cooking stuff.

Then little Elizabeth woke up and wanted to eat. It was cold and rainy, we all piled in the front seat of the car to stay warm, and so Erin could feed the baby. But the tiny princess needed a little diaper change. There was no room to change her. The back seat had 2 car seats in it and the very back was full of birthday presents. So we found the only free flat surface we could. The dash board! But she is happy, maybe she is a little exhibitionist:-) Or she just thinks grandma is funny changing her on the dashboard.
We were all happy and cozy!

In the parking lot was this fun car. At first we thought it was a promotional car. But on closer look it is just somebody who was crazy for ghost busters. His stuff (is that sexist that I am assuming it a guy?) was made out of PVC pipe and some 2 liter bottles and other things.

It looked really cool sitting there in the parking lot.

The girls......

So we enjoyed our kids this weekend. Grandpa was stealing kisses from Elizabeth. Issy sucks her thumb, it will become a problem soon, but she depends on that thumb. So grandpa was holding Issy and ask "can I try that?" So she put her thumb in his mouth to share.
Then she tried to pull it out, but grandpa wouldn't let it go. She pulled a couple of times then gave up turned her head and stuck her other thumb in her mouth. We were laughing so hard you can see it on Mikes face.

Then the girls took a bath. I copied this picture from a friends blog.

The tiny princess is so sweet. She liked the bath.

This was the princesses first bath together.

Elizabeth is such a sweet little baby. When I hold her and kiss her cheek she turns her little head and brushes her mouth across my lips. So she is already giving me kisses!
