Just to let you all know as to my previous post, I made a doctors appointment. But it has to wait for 2 weeks. It was Issy's 2ND birthday yesterday.
She has a little friend Cadence(sp?) they had so much fun.

They danced, and played hide and seek with Steven, and just ran hand in hand. Two squealing, giggling little girls, it was so cute to watch.

Erin wanted to get her something a little different and ordered a double layer cookie for her birthday. She loved blowing out the candles, even if her parents forgot to get candle and she had to have tea lights on her birthday cookie. We just decided they matched the cookie and worked perfectly.

Then Issy got into opening her gifts she loved all of her presents.

Her parents got her a baby, Baby Grand. She loves it.

But of course I had to make the last picture be of her playing with grandma and grandpa's gift! She had a fun party. We enjoyed the company the kids, the kids neighbors, the Buchanan girls came too. The food was great, and we all passed around the tiny princess while we watched Issy run and play. It was a great night.
Something is wrong with me lately. I can't put my finger on it, but I'm just off kilter. It's Easter, I have been thinking of Christ's life of the Atonement, and just that thought alone should lift me. They tell us in our church that we should live our lives, so that others will know Christ, just because they know us. I read a book last year called "The Hiding Place", now those people lived that very way. They were wrapped up in the middle of the horrors of the Holocaust, and they radiated faith and love. I am not dealing with anything even half as horrifying as the Holocaust in my life. But I constantly disappoint myself. I feel like by this time in my life I should have it down. I am a grandma for heaven sake, I should be wise and all knowing:-)
I have so many blessings in my life, constant blessings. I thank Heavenly Father daily for them. I have such good and happy things, a loving and attentive husband, compassionate and loving children, beautiful sweet little granddaughters, awesome family, great friends, Mike's job, a warm home, clothes, food, books and chocolate,etc... How can I have all of these blessing and even more and not feel completely happy? I'm not sad, but I'm just not very happy. I have been "off" for about a month, but this past week has been really bad. I'm just not so fun when I go out with friends, I can tell I'm not myself. Is it a midlife crises, the change-I'm just 44, situational depression, the crazy scary political world, the bad economy, or what? Mike has been leaving funny comments on his friends Facebook, and making jokes to me and they all go over my head. I'm not clicking, I'm physically and mentally slower this week. I just don't know what's up with me. Then I wonder if I went to the doctor what do I say is wrong with me? "Yes, doctor I am here because I haven't gotten my husbands jokes all week!" Maybe Mikes jokes are just really bad this week and I am perfectly normal!:-)
Well, if it is depression, then what in the world do I have to be depressed about? Why am I so down and draggy, when I have so many blessings. I love Heavenly Father, and I know he loves me. I also love his son, and know that Easter is all about his love for me (actually all of us). I guess today I could really tell something was wrong, this draggy feeling stole some of my "happy, grateful, Easter feelings."
Maybe I just need some sleep, I haven't been getting much at all.
Excuse the rant, as I said I'm off.
I hope you all had a wonderful Easter!
Nathan came home from school on Thursday and didn't feel very good. He was running a slight fever I just had him rest. I am a little old fashioned and believe if you have a fever your body is working. You have a fever because your body is trying to burn out what ever organisms is making you sick. He took a long bath but it didn't make him feel better. (For me and 3 of my children a nice hot bath is like medicine it makes us feel physically better.) He came out of his room and laid down on the couch and watched the movie "Chocolat" with me. After that he wanted chocolate but settled orange juice:-) Around 9:30 his temperature shot up to 103, that is when I take action. We dosed him up with advil and called the neighbor to help give him a blessing. Then we realised that he was having a party on Friday night. He felt terrible and he was so sad when we started to figure out what to do about the party.
I took him to the Urgent Care as soon as it opened, and he had strep throat. We were in a bind about the party, the invitations had gone out, but we didn't have numbers to call and postpone it. The Urgent Care people were very sympathetic and hooked us up. They had us get him on the antibiotics as soon as possible, they gave him a dose of something that would take down the swelling and redness within 2 hours. They said the germs pass through water. So if he coughed or sneezed, or we ate/drank after him, that would be how we got it. And let's face it he probably exposed all of his friends on Thursday. We had the party, but he had to wear a face mask. We also had a large bottle of hand sanitizer out for everybody.
This is his cake, a trusty Costco cake.
These are the snacks that 11 kids hardly put a dent in, maybe it had something to do with the 8 pizzas Mike and I brought in!
Steven and Chris worked really hard to make the very sick little brothers birthday party be a great one. We pulled all of the TV's together, 2 in the living room and 2 in the basement. They set it up so that they could play in teams. I don't understand how it all works.

I got a few shots at the very beginning, before everybody got here. I didn't get any good shots and I even forgot to get group shots. Mike and I went to our room and hung out on our computers so the kids could have fun.
We had a lovely drive today to Salt Lake.
And as we drove this lovely drive .............
Mike called us from here! arghhhhhhhh!
But, actually the joke is on him, because he has to turn around and come right back here and join us!:-)
