Second trip to Gilmer......

I learned again of God's tender mercy's during this trip. I had a Relief Society Meeting I was in the middle of planning, and when I got home from my trip the very next day I had to teach a lesson in Relief Society. I had had the scripture "If ye are prepared ye shall not fear," on my brain for a couple of months. Then when I prayed about what I should teach I felt like that was it. Easter Sunday was all in all a good day, but it had been kind of a  sad and hard week before. I was stressing that night knowing that I had to be teaching a lesson soon and didn't have anything prepared. I went to my room, prayed and the entire lesson just came to me. It was simple and perfect. (side note- after I taught it, a girl told me she had gone to Women's Conference and gone to a preparedness class. She said that it was all the same stuff I had said quotes and scriptures too. It made me feel that I had listened to the spirit and done what Heavenly Father wanted me to do!)

Mom had just gotten home from the hospital when I got there. She was having a very sad rough time at first. We just cooked lot's of yummy foods and visited and watched movies. Mom wanted to help with the strawberries. This made her very happy! then we had Aunt sherry and Uncle Sam and some of there grand ones over for dinner. It was a lot of fun!
Mom was having a hard time and I was having a very hard time watching her struggle. I would call mike and cry to him. Well one night he called me and ask me to come down and let him in. He was so awesome he flew out and drove to Gilmer for the last few days of my trip. By them Mom was doing o much better. But we were all happy to see him there! this was Uncle Sams Birthday, and we didn't even know it!
Jared and Vicki were a lot of fun to hang out with!
Mike brought a Cube down with him. It was kind of fun to drive around. It fit mom's wheelchair  perfectly.
Mom and I laughing at Mike and Dad "napping" together!
We went out with the Sosa's and then went and got some baby loves from their grandbaby!
Mike and Dad 4 wheeled for a while. then they brought out the big guns and Mike got to drive Dad's tractor around.
Gina is a huge blessing to me and my parents. We have been best friends since we were 10. My parent feel like she is their daughter too! I do love her very much!
On the way back home we met Mike family for breakfast. It was quick but we had a great visit. Nothing like a little bacon to liven up a gathering!
 Our dads:-)

It was a very sad stressful trip that ended on a very happy upbeat note!

What a great guy MIke is, to show up like that. Lorena, this is just a tough time in our lives. All the things that came before us are unwinding. And we had to put Piper down this week - fourteen years' of love and friendship, like a door closing. We are set in the middle of life and death, and it's happening, and going to keep happening for a while, all around us. Our parents - it's just a matter of time. Then, on the other side, weddings and babies. A swirl of mortality that sometimes leaves me sobbing in the shower.

I'm glad you could go. I'm glad my brother is a man of compassion, love and quality.

Bless your hearts.
