2 Princesses.....

So while Erin was in the hospital Issy was playing with us. Her dad taught her sign language "I love you." But she mostly just does "love you." She hugs herself and then points at who ever.
This time it was Grandpa!
Then she loves to dance so she was dancing to American Idol.
Then we found out the next day that Erin had spent another night in the hospital. I started to get worried after this. She hadn't seen Issy for a while and wanted a blessing. We headed up to the hospital. Monica one of Erin's closest friend was there visiting her. which made Mike and I feel good that Erin had somebody else who loved her there.

Erin was very sick the pneumonia was in a bad place. They had to do a CT scan of her lungs and told her there were complications with it. they also said she had pleurisy, I have just heard about that in old movies. but she couldn't breath and was in horrible pain just trying to breath.

Issy was having funny, she played with a sunbeam on the floor for a while. But Mike noticed that she was getting sad with Erin being so messed up. So we left.

We took her to lunch and Mike and I were pretty messed up. Erin was in scary shape. When she coughed it broke your heart. She didn't look good, and she hadn't slept in 3 days, she was exhausted.
After lunch we went to Target to buy Issy some diapers and another outfit. I didn't pack her up when I grabbed her. So when we were shopping Erin called and said she was having an emergency C-section. The pulminoligist (sp?) had seen her scans and said the baby had to come out NOW!

Issy got her grandpa to buy her a hat. They were funny and hid it from Grandma. But we rushed home from the store and I rushed back to the hospital. the insurance thing was that they were out of network. But Erin was so bad they didn't want to move her. Jon got things worked out and `they didn't have to move her so they started the C-section. I was very surprised that they let me go in too.

They had a hard time getting Erin ready. She was swollen all over including her back. and she has a little scoliosis. So it took an hour, to finally give her a spinal block. they said it would have been way to dangerous to put her to sleep. The c-section went perfect and little Elizabeth came out 2 weeks and 4 days early. But she weighed 6 pounds and 6 ounces, and 17 1/2 inches long.

Erin was doing better soon after. she could actually breath, which will help her lungs heal.
And I now have another sweet little princess to love!

Her dad was very excited she has a cleft chin just like her daddy.

She was enjoying stretching out. And is sooooo precious! We are happy and feel like Erin is going to get better a lot quicker now.

I can hardly bear this story. If I had been you, Rene, I know how I would have felt - I'd have had that dry, high focus that makes me set my jaw and keep moving and keep thinking and keep doing things even though underneath there is screaming going on. My poor Erin! And thank the Lord and Jon that he whipped all their butts in line to save two lives - over paperwork! How outrageous. How stupid. How- I can't come up with a decent but strong enough word.

What insurance was it? I want to know. Everybody should know.

That baby is so lovely. She's a perfect little angel. And Izzy is growing so much - we used to do ASL with the kids, and C and L do it with the Scoot so that he can say when he wants more or is finished.

The pictures of Erin frighten me. I'm glad, in a twisted way, that I wasn't there last night to know what was going on or to see her suffer like that.

I'm amazed and grateful and very glad it all turned out well. Bless your hearts.

What a scary, crazy story. I am so glad the baby is here safely, and that Erin is doing better. If you need anything, let me know.

Wow, what a scary situation. It looks like everything is working out okay, however. Little Elizabeth is VERY cute. Our best to the tired mom and proud dad.

Family....That's what it's all about! :) said...

When I saw Erins face, my heart broke and I got teary....she has had such a long road with this pregnancy and then this....but thank goodness the baby is here safely and now she can get her strength back and be a new mommy of those two beautiful little girls. Let her know she is in lots of prayers in Texas and we love her and that little Elizabeth is a doll...but why wouldn't she be, her mom is a doll. She's got alot to be grateful for....may be hard to see that right now, :) but those girls are definetly blessings. And you being there with her is another blessing...and all those boys home with the Princess is a blessing... :) I sure hope Erin got some rest last night and feels even a tad better today. Call me if you get a chance...if not, I will check with your dad later and see if he is up to date yet. :) Love yall... Gina

She is darling. Oh the things some women go through with childbirth. Saints. Nothing less. My mother-in-law had pleurisy several times. It's quite painful. I saw Mike's status last night, so knew everything turned out okay, but worrying about kids and grandkids is heart wrenching. Congratulations! You'll be in our prayers.

In answer to Ginna's comment of "and all those boys home with the Princess is a blessing... :)"

I am not so sure about the blessing part of that :)
