Busy getting ready........

So I am getting things ready for the trip, I had to post some pictures of my princess first. The kids are finishing out their basement and they made the princess her own little place under the stairs. Grandpa had to crawl in and play with her. She loves the new family room. I liked this picture with the sun coming through the window and lighting her up. She is in a basement!
So we have been busy trying to pack. We are going to be gone for a while and not able to do laundry, so we have to take a lot of stuff. I had to run and get a hair cut, so I would look cute in all my pictures:-) The girl who does my hair tried to make it kind of spikey and fun. I'm not ever going to be able to duplicate it, I never can.
Then I had to go get my toes ready for the trip. Pedicures are awesome when your stressed.
Then the girl ask if I wanted my eyebrows waxed. I thought, tweezing is on my list of things to do. So I had her do it. It was crazy, she waxed all the way around them, then she got a comb and scissors and trimmed them up. I have never had my eyebrows trimmed before. But hopefully they will look cute in my pictures.

When we went last year, I bought a hot chocolate. It was in a tiny styrofoam cup and very watery chocolate for like $3. So I got a great idea, I would try to find a "submersion heater." It is like a fat ink pen with a thick wire, coiled at the end. Then you put the wire part in a cup of water and it brings the water up to boiling, right in the cup. I looked all around this place and couldn't find one. But I did come up with this little heating pot. I read a lot of good things about it. You can heat water or soup in it. One lady said she took it to Disneyland, and made ramen noodles and stuff in it. So we got the pot to take it with us. It holds 4 cups, but it is very, very light. I don't think it weighs even a pound. I also got some hot chocolate, herbal tea, ramen, instant oatmeal, and powdered soup mix. So hopefully it will work well. But taking that made me pack some mugs and spoons. Then Mike loves the yogurt over there, so I picked up 2 little bowls also. I'm taking some much extra stuff, we better use it!:-)

This is my suitcase, I am halfway packed. I have to figure out what to do with all of the little stuff on the bottom. I got one of the space saver bags, they were $20 for 8 different sizes. Well my bags let the air back in. So they didn't work so great.

But Mike got name brand space saver bags around $10 a piece and his has worked great. I guess you get what you pay for!

I got some of those bags - big ones for storing blankets and stuff. They didn't work well at all. Maybe I tried to stuff too much into them. You certainly are planning down to the inth detail. And lookin' GOOD!

Good thinking on the hot water pot, that's really smart!
I hope you have a great trip.
